Strategic advertising campaign boosts awareness and traffic for downtown Bellingham.

The Downtown Bellingham Partnership, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to enhancing the vibrancy and growth of downtown Bellingham, Washington. Committed to promoting commerce, culture, and celebration, the organization envisions a community where people can work, shop, learn, and play. Through development, promotion, and support, the Partnership advocates for a dynamic city center.

Campaign Development

As the agency of record, we partnered with the Downtown Bellingham Partnership to create the "Rediscover Downtown" advertising campaign, aimed at driving locals to the downtown area and boosting newsletter signups and social following. This included developing monthly ad campaigns and social ads, as well as creating a sponsorship packet for businesses interested in sponsoring events. The campaign also featured the Downtown Sounds summer concert series, which targeted tourists to drive traffic to Bellingham. This larger campaign included KEXP radio spots, digital ads in periodicals like The Seattle Times and The Stranger, programmatic ads in Vancouver, BC, and paid social ads.

Implementation and Results

The Rediscover Downtown campaign emphasized both indoor and outdoor experiences, catering to diverse audiences and fostering a sense of community. Our advertising efforts showcased the vibrant culture and authentic charm of downtown Bellingham, inviting residents and visitors alike to embrace the city’s offerings. By strategically targeting local and tourist audiences, the campaign successfully boosted awareness and traffic to the area. The marketing KPIs established at the start of the engagement were not only met but exceeded, validating the strategic approach and creative execution.

"We are over six months into working with Brilliant Marketing, and we are confident we made the right decision. We are currently exceeding the marketing KPIs we originally established when deciding to outsource our campaign work."
